Whispers of Time:
A Journey from Paris to Noyers”
In this series of five oil paintings, I sincerely invite the viewer to embark on my journey from the summer of 2024. This journey originated from my artist residency in France, becoming an unforgettable memory as I explored the enchanting experiences in the historic town of Noyers in Burgundy.
Burgundy is renowned for its magnificent landscapes and exquisite wines. To capture this unique atmosphere, I specifically employed a palette of four different shades of brown, aiming to resonate with the rich tones of high-quality Burgundy wine. However, what surprised me most was the landscapes and vast fields along the way, showcasing various shades of earth tones, revealing a diverse palette far beyond the lush greens I had previously imagined.
These beautiful and harmonious tones prompted me to delve deeper into the interplay between light and dark, evoking the warmth and depth of this captivating land. Each painting offers an abstract interpretation of the Burgundy landscape, with forms arising from my intuition and spontaneous creative process. Every piece is organically formed, genuinely reflecting my emotional response to the surrounding environment rather than adhering to any pre-designed form.
Throughout the creative process, some significant and charming elements came from an old magazine, *Paris Match, 1967*, which I fortuitously discovered at a flea market in Paris. This magazine contains numerous fascinating historical stories, events, and advertisements from that era, inspiring me to incorporate these collaged elements into my works, adding a nostalgic atmosphere and context. This seamlessly merges past and present sentiments, creating a visual narrative dialogue.
